On the top of a hill is this hermitage, built at the beginning of the 17th century and which has kept its simple form, with its belfry overlooking the horizon from one of the highest points on the island, in the highest village in the Canary Islands.
The viewpoint surrounds the hermitage of San Roque, a charming building with a single nave and adjoining sacristy, with a Mudejar-inspired coffered ceiling and a floor made of chasnera slabs, a traditional stone from the south of Tenerife. Inside it houses the image of San Roque, co-patron saint of the village together with San Agustín.
The viewpoint surrounds this hermitage and is included in one of the favourite routes for walkers in the area: the Anaga-Chasna nature trail, on the section that links Vilaflor with the neighbouring municipality of Arona. This viewpoint is the ideal place to enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the old town and the valley in which the municipality is immersed.
